Sketching the Courts since 1977

Courtartist is Arthur Lien, born in NYC in 1952. Raised by a single mom in the U.S., France and Switzerland he came to Baltimore in 1971 where he found a home and fell in love. The trial of Maryland Governor Marvin Mandel in 1977 started him on a career of courtroom sketching. The next year he began regularly sketching the U.S. Senate and Supreme Court for CBS News. In 1980 he signed a contract with NBC News where he has worked ever since. He now lives a little bit outside Baltimore, but is still very much in love.
